We will address the requirements of the standards IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 and how they will assist in the quest for transparency accountability and sustainable business practices.

The IFRS Foundation through the ISSB issued their first standards on General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information and Climate-related Disclosures in June 2023. The activities of the ISSB will build on the work that has been undertaken previously by various organisations which have focused on market-led investor-focused reporting initiatives including the Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB) the Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) the Value Reporting Foundation’s Integrated Reporting Framework and industry-based Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Standards as well as the World Economic Forum’s Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics

Blaise Colyvas

Blaise has 10 years of experience in public practice. During this time he has worked at Grant Thornton as an audit manager, Gobodo Incorporated as a senior manager in their technical standards division, Protect a Partner International as Head of Accounting and Technical Excellence and most recently as a technical director at W.Consulting. His areas of expertise include, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), IFRS for SMEs, Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP) and ISA (International Auditing Standards).

He provides technical consulting services and training to the firm's clients on these frameworks. He is an active member of the Accounting Standards Board’s Public Sector Accounting Forum (previously the SAICA Public Sector Technical Forum) and has served on various sub-committees of the Accounting Practices Committee of SAICA and the ASB. He is also a Registered Auditor and member of the Independent Regulatory Board of Auditors, and a registered Skills Assessor. He is a co-author of the publication Wiley Interpretation and Application of International Financial Reporting Standards 2011 and 2012.
